As A Person Who Believes
As a person who believes in the dignity and rights of people, before I buy I shall look for the Union Label, Shop Card or Service Button. In so doing I will strengthen the security of men and women who believe as I do in the goals of a free labor movement.
I am a union family person who has been blessed with a decent living. I have come to enjoy better things because of the devotion and dedication of those before me who have labored to provide a standard of living unparalleled in the world. I shall not destroy all their efforts and render helpless all the causes they so earnestly fought to win for workers.
I am a member of organized labor and will never forget I would not be able to purchase the amount of products I do without a union job and, therefore, common sense and a deep commitment to the ideals of our movement demand that I purchase those products, which will further our cause.

Next State Council Meeting: December 10, 2007 10:00am
State Fed Building 1st Floor Conference Room 419 South Washington Ave. Lansing, MI
The Union Label Pledge I AM A UNION WORKER. I know that I enjoy many things today because of the devotion and sacrifices of unionists before me who fought to win a better life for all working people. I pledge to help my union brothers and sisters by buying union-made products and using union-made services. I pledge further to buy only those goods in the marketplace that are made in this country by my fellow workers, and to avoid the imported products of those companies that export production, technology and jobs to low-wage countries, thus destroying jobs and undermining the economy of this nation. As a unionist, I will not permit my union-earned dollars to profit those who refuse to recognize their employees' right to participate in the collective bargaining process, and do not permit them to have a strong voice in determining their own future. I pledge also to look for the Union Label on all goods and services that I use. By doing so, I help strengthen the security of those men and women who believe as I do in the goals of the free labor movement. I demonstrate my unity with my labor brothers and sisters by observing a simple principle - the Union Label Golden Rule: Buy Union products and services as you would have union wages and benefits paid unto you!
